Qi and Qigong
Breath, Movement, and Creativity
Abstract: David Ray Griffin’s call for an expanded understanding of energy—as a form of creativity with qualitative, experiential, and relational dimensions—opens the door to a process appreciation of qi and qigong. Qi is the energy of the universe, and qigong is a practice of attuning to its felt presence in the living immediacy of each moment through breath and movement. In the crisis of meaning faced by so many in our time, qigong may be just the kind of practice we need to move beyond isolation toward an expanded sense of belonging to one another, to the earth, and to the heavens.
