​When the Rig Veda was written, there was no flute and no veena. The Rig Veda is the oldest record of religious yearning, hymns to Nature in the form of gods. This is a legacy of the human race, and not just of the hindu religion. There is no particular way in which the essence of the veda can be grasped.
