Make no mistake: Dr. Jeffrey Schloss believes in reason and in science. He believes that evolution provides a pointer toward belief in God. But his is a deep empiricism. He also believes that we can learn from other, less scientific forms of experience, involving our feelings. As he puts it: "I way laying in my bed one night and decided to pray to a God who I wasn't sure was there...And in that moment the most glorious, numinous loving overwhelming personal presence that I had ever experienced or imagined flooded by heart and filled the room."
