These days I’ve stayed inside with a little help from my friends. Do I need anybody? Well, yes, I need family and friends and birds and trees and soil and sunshine? I need someone to love. Could it be anybody? Well, not exactly. It’s the beauty of particular people, and particular relationships, that count. But I'm married and have two dogs, so it's OK.
Is this all you need? Well it also helps to have an outlook on life that helps make sense of this. An outlook that reminds me that my life is composed of relationships, even when I can’t shake hands. And that that speaks of a cosmic lure, dwelling inside me even as it is more than me, that beckons me and others to help create a post-pandemic future in which love and creativity, not greed and fear, are the reigning ideals.
